you have made my life significantly better.
I no longer have to mispronounce words in public or let on that I have no idea what “I took an arrow to the knee” means. I can look up fancy slang like nbd and ftw and pretend like I’m on the same page as everyone else.
You gave us Wikipedia and even though it isn’t a credible reference for a paper, it’s a credible reference for real life and definitely makes us all far more inquisitive.
You gave Maggie and me an endless supply of entertainment for our 9 am Psychology class, which led us to create nosurefooting. And let’s be honest, I know how thankful all our readers are for that.
While we’re being honest, it’s safe to say that YouTube, one of your most useful creations, basically brought the entire world together. Well, kind of. It helped a boy from Brooklyn, Todd, find and meet Camille, a girl from Paris, so he could return some lost film. It let Jill and Kevin share with the world, in my opinion, the *best* wedding entrance there will ever be. While LOLcats brought to the fore everyone’s apparent love for weird cat photos and general feline love, YouTube gave us the Stalking Cat and the best dog ever, Bizkit. It let a cute boy from Nowhere, Canada go from this to THIS.
I’m personally indebted to Gmail, another one of your finest creations, for facilitating some of the greatest relationships I have ever had. I remember getting my “first gmail email”, but wasn’t aware what a beautiful adventure I was in for.
I’m pretty sure I’m still friends with some of my favourite people solely because of you. Music, information, photos and videos pop into my Inbox every single day. My archives are a treasure chest and when I dig far enough, I always find gold.
Last year Google Chrome helped a wonderful dad create a similar treasure chest for his daughter.

You really are what we make of you and I think Mark knows this more than anyone else.
When things fall apart, you somehow have a way of putting them back together. (Or at least trying.)
Thank you for existing.
Love,
Uttara
One of the most wonderful letters I have read in a long time.
