As you may or may not have noticed, we like books. There are just so many lovely things to do with books.
PayPhone Libraries
If you have ever been to New York City then you’ve probably wondered what on earth all the pay phones are for. We’ve never used one and we’ve often seen some pretty sad looking booths. 
John Locke, a Columbia architecture grad, noticed the space pay phones were taking up and decided to convert them into mini-libraries. We completely approve.
Read his interview in the Atlantic where he talks about his inspiration, books and how people have responded to these “guerrilla libraries”.
Tom Bendsten
We just posted about another artist who uses books as a medium but we recently found another one and there are dozens more of them, we’re sure. Tom Bendsten takes thousands of books, literally, and builds fort like structures out of them. The pictures are really poor quality, but you can still see how amazing these are.

After a fire in the Architecture library at Delft University of Technology in 2009, they rebuilt their front desk with old books!
